Queensland Adventures 2012

As the weather cools down in Victoria, it is time for us to head north again towards the sunshine and warmer weather.

We enjoyed cosy campfires at Leslie Dam

This crow is for Anoushka!

Traveling through New South Wales provided some cold mornings that gave us the incentive to keep moving, so we arrived on the Gold Coast less than a week from leaving home, only to be greeted by a couple of days of relentless rain and cold winds. Once the weather improved we left the safety of Sanctuary Cove aboard our friends’ boat for a week cruising the channels and exploring the mangrove islands of Moreton Bay.

Finally it was time for us to head back to Surfers Paradise for a couple of days before heading further up the coast.

This was our anchorage for the night at The Stadium, next to the spit in Surfers Paradise.

There still seems to be plenty of money around in this part of the world. This helicopter pontoon is outside a private house on one of the canals near Surfers Paradise.

Next stop: Mooloolaba!

    Love the crow 🙂
He is a Torresian crow – slightly smaller than the Melbourne ravens.
Looks like you’re having a blast!!! And the weather looks great – I won’t mention how crappy and cold it was on the island this weekend…
    Miss you guys oxoxox
